KA Performance: New Hire Safety Orientation

Welcome and Facility Orientation

Lesson 1 of 3

Welcome to KA Performance. This orientation is required before your first unsupervised shift, whether you are coaching sessions, running the front desk, or on the maintenance team.

The training floor gets busy fast. Knowing where things are and who to ask before a problem comes up is most of what keeps members and staff safe.

Learn these four zones before your first shift: free weights, cardio, turf, and the staff hallway.

Front Desk Hours

5:00am to 10:00pm Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm weekends. The training floor closes 15 minutes after the desk.

Staff Entrance and Badge Access

Staff enter through the side door off the parking lot, not the member entrance. Your badge is programmed on day one; it unlocks the staff hallway, the equipment room, and the break room.

Key Fob and Alarm Codes

Alarm codes are never shared over text or email. If you are opening or closing, a manager walks you through the code in person during your first two weeks.

A member's key fob will not open the staff hallway door. What should you do first?

Next up: how to spot equipment that needs to come off the floor, and the lifting technique we expect every staff member to model for members.
